5 from 1 review

Made with everyday pantry staples and no complicated steps, this is an easy, reliable recipe for mornings when you want something warm and homemade without extra fuss.

Ingredients

  •   2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1¾ cups milk

  • ½ cup butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

    1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease it if needed.
    2.  In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
    3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth
    4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir just until combined. The batter may be slightly lumpy—do not overmix.
    5.  Pour the batter into the hot waffle iron, using the amount recommended for your iron. (Most irons have a light indicating when waffles are done)  Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
    6.  Carefully remove the waffles and serve warm with butter, syrup, fruit, or your favorite toppings.
