This easy homemade whipped cream is made with just 3 simple ingredients and comes together in minutes. Light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet, it’s the perfect topping for pancakes, pies, hot chocolate, and fresh fruit. Once you make whipped cream from scratch, you’ll never go back to store-bought.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (cold)

  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place a mixing bowl and beaters (or whisk attachment) in the freezer for 10–15 minutes to chill.

  2. Pour the cold heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl.

  3. Beat on medium speed until soft peaks begin to form.

  4. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

  5. Continue beating on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.

  6. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For thicker whipped cream, beat slightly longer—but don’t overmix or it can turn grainy.

  • For a less sweet version, reduce powdered sugar to 1 tablespoon.

  • Add cocoa powder for chocolate whipped cream.
